Symposium on Yoga Research

The symposium featured presentations by yoga therapy researchers. The pre-conference focused on basics of yoga research for therapists, instructors, and new investigators. NCCAM is providing partial support for the meeting.

The Science of Compassion: Future Directions in End-of-Life and Palliative Care

Date: Wednesday, August 10, 2011 to Friday, August 12, 2011

The objectives of this summit were to:

  • Examine the current status of palliative care and end-of-life research, practice, and policy
  • Propose strategies to overcome barriers and ensure scientific and methodologic rigor in our research
  • Delineate new action items that galvanize progress in this vital area of science
  • Envision and map pathways to ensure a future rich with scientific endeavor and achievements.

Conference on Vitamin E

Date: Monday, May 2, 2011

The purpose of the meeting was to bring together an interdisciplinary team of researchers to discuss cutting edge research on the mechanisms and clinical effects of Vitamin E in liver disease such as fatty liver disease or NASH, and future direction for Vitamin E research in liver disease.
