The T90 program is a 3-year, full-time, immersive clinical research-training program for doctoral-level-trained clinicians in complementary and integrative practices (i.e., ND, DC, and DAOM) based at the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle, Washington. The T90 program includes mentored clinical research experience; didactic research training, core clinical research; epidemiology and biostatistics coursework at UW; salary consistent with the fellow’s years of experience (i.e., not necessarily the NRSA stipend schedule), and a stipend for conference travel and research-related expenses. The T90 program aims to produce the next generation of scientists from clinical complementary backgrounds who will advance complementary and integrative health research through their expertise in clinical and translational research methods.

Conducting research in complementary and integrative health requires a multidisciplinary approach that is only possible by bringing together experts in research, clinical care, and complementary and integrative health.

The BRIDG program, supported by a 5-year grant from the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, is a 2- to 3-year immersive clinical research training program for both doctoral-level health care providers in complementary and integrative health disciplines and conventionally trained researchers from biomedical and public health disciplines.

The T90 program provides postdoctoral fellowships at UW for complementary and integrative health care providers who want to learn clinical research. The R90 program provides postdoctoral fellowships at the National University of Natural Medicine for researchers who want to learn clinical complementary and integrative health research. T90 trainees and R90 participants also train with each other in quarterly retreats to foster mutual understanding, respect, and knowledge of trainees’ respective fields.
