Dr. Lucie Low will conduct research into the long-term effects of chronic pain on brain structure and function to investigate the underlying neurobiology behind these changes. Specifically, Dr. Low is interested in how pain influences cognition at a behavioral, cellular and molecular level. She is also interested in how the environment can affect pain behavior and neurobiology.

Dr. Low completed her bachelor's degree at Oxford University, and received both her master’s and doctorate degrees from University College London (UK). Prior to joining NCCIH, Dr. Low was a postdoc research fellow at McGill University, Montreal, Canada.
