Ginger Betson
Executive Officer, Office of the Director
Ginger Betson is the executive officer at the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH). In this role, she serves as the principal advisor to the director, the deputy director, and the Center’s senior staff and provides leadership and direction for the Center’s administrative activities including financial management, human resource management, management analysis, workforce development, information technology, acquisitions, and administrative support.
Ms. Betson came to NCCIH in 2014 as the deputy executive officer with responsibility for overseeing the management analysis and human resources functions. Previously, she served as a principal administrative officer in the Office of the Director at the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR). During her tenure at NIDCR, she served in a variety of roles providing support across the Institute.
Ms. Betson began her National Institutes of Health (NIH) career in 1991 in the NIH Police Branch, Office of Research Services. Ms. Betson holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in management from Frostburg State University. Among her accomplishments are completion of the NIH Senior Leadership Training, three NIH Director’s Awards, an Office of the Director Honor Award, and an NCCIH Director’s Award.
